How to Change or Edit a Work Order/Task
Learn how to use the Task Change operation in Titan Maintenance.

The Task Change operation in the Urgent Platform enables users with the correct permissions to update various details of a task without the need to create a new one. This functionality supports dynamic task management and reduces duplication across the task lifecycle.
Note: Access to make changes to tasks requires specific role permissions. If you need this capability enabled, please reach out to Titan Maintenance Support.
Accessing the Change Task Feature
To access this feature, navigate to the Task Details area. If your user role includes the required permissions, you’ll see the option to 'Change Task' in the Actions dropdown. Clicking this will open a menu where you can update task details.

Editable Task Elements
The Change Task modal allows you to update multiple task components, including criteria and assignment values.
To make a change, click the toggle into the ON/YES position. This will unlock the corresponding field for editing.
Reactive Matrix Section
Selections made in the top section determine how the changes are applied across Titan Maintenance, and may or may not unlock additional options for editing.

Change Reactive Matrix: If enabled, you will select a different process category from the list configured in your tenant's Matrices.
- Keep in mind that this may impact Assignments, Contractor Compliance, Task Verification, Asset Downtime, and other related workflows.
- Making this change will also delete any custom fields currently associated with the task.
- Use Assignments: If enabled, the system will attempt to match new criteria to an existing assignment and apply relevant values (e.g., Supplier, SLA). If no match is found, the task enters a status awaiting manual dispatch.
- Update Assignment Values: Ignores the Assignments module, allowing you to manually define all assignment-related fields. If a Supplier is entered, the task is re-dispatched and a new dispatch notification is generated.
Note: The 'Use Assignments' option is only available to tenants using the Advanced Assignments Module. Clients using the Legacy Assignments Module must select 'Update Assignment Values' and manually update assignment values during task changes.
Click Save to confirm changes.
Why Update a Task?
Editing an existing task allows a single task to go through multiple processes, without needing to create multiple tasks.
For example, if a quote is required from the Contractor before a repair can be carried out, an initial task can be raised to the Contractor and go through the quote process workflow. Then, if the quote is approved, the same task can go through the reactive process workflow.
This allows all the information and the full history to be stored in one task/work order with one ID, from start to finish of the task lifecycle.
