Overview Why It Matters How It Works in the Platform Task Resolution on the Mobile App Key Features: Summary

Overview

The Task Resolution feature is designed to capture valuable data during the lifecycle of a reactive maintenance task. It prompts users to select a Cause and Remedy when completing a task, offering greater visibility into issue trends and helping organizations make informed decisions about maintenance strategies.

Titan Maintenance provides a standard list of cause and remedy options, but these can be customized to meet specific client needs.

Why It Matters

Capturing resolution data directly from suppliers—those closest to the work—offers real-world insights that can:

  • Support decisions about preventative maintenance schedules
  • Guide asset investment strategies
  • Encourage proactive issue resolution
  • Contribute to building a predictive maintenance model

Example:
If the cause is recorded as “dirty” and the remedy is “cleaned,” this information could highlight recurring issues and prompt changes to cleaning schedules or equipment placement.

How It Works in the Platform

When a task transitions to a status that has Task Resolution Cause or Remedy enabled, the system adds an extra step in the workflow.

To set or check these, go to Manage > Workflows > Select Workflow > Select Workflow Status > Navigate to Features Tab

Once entered, the cause and remedy are displayed on the Task Details page and tracked in the Timeline tab. Users can also filter and view this data on the Task Summary page using the column and filter customization tools.

Task Resolution on the Mobile App

The mobile version of the Task Resolution module mirrors the functionality of the desktop version, with some adjustments for usability on smaller screens.

Key Features:

  • Cause and Remedy options are displayed as cards instead of dropdowns.
  • Users can select multiple cards easily.
  • Adding a note to each cause or remedy is optional but supported.

This streamlined interface ensures users can efficiently complete the resolution process even while on-site or in the field. For more information, see the Titan Maintenance Contractor Mobile App article.

Summary

The Task Resolution module is a powerful tool that helps your organization gather actionable data from the field. By logging both the cause and remedy of a task, you gain clarity on root problems and how they're addressed—improving both reactive and preventative maintenance processes.
