- Check the port setting on the gauge
- A TLS 350, for example, should be set to 9600, None, 1, or 8
- Try resetting the connection to the gauge using the Connectivity Wizards.
- Try power cycling the modem/router
Unable to create terminal emulator connection
“Unable to create terminal emulator connection. A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.”
When this error appears, a technician is usually needed to resolve on site.
Possible causes:
- Power is out
- IP address change
- Port number change
- Password has been set
- Firewall issue from the VPN

If the response is in computer code rather than readable text, check to make sure the command was entered correctly.
