Alarms Troubleshooting: Inconsistent Alarm and Inventory Data in Alarm Notifications
Learn possible explanations for incorrect data in emailed Alarm Notifications.
If configured to do so in the Alarm Notification Setup page, specific triggered alarms will send email notifications.
Occasionally, you may notice that the tank inventory data in the email notification doesn't quite match the described alarm. For example, the image below is from an email notification for a Tank High Product Alarm, but the volume shown is lower than the threshold that should trigger that alarm.

In this case, the Tank High Product Alarm was accurate; there had been an overfill event. But the tank volume shown had not yet caught up.
This can occur because the ATG does not record an inventory value with the alarm. It only captures that the criteria for the alarm has been met. When Titan Cloud polls the ATG for inventory and alarms, it must do so with separate commands, which can cause slightly staggered timing for the data we receive and display.
If this issue occurs frequently, or if you are noticing a significant delay between inventory and alarm updates in Titan Cloud, it is likely related to how the ATG connection to Titan Cloud is configured. For example, a site experiencing internet outages may experience intermittent delays and gaps, and a site using a dial up modem to may regularly experience delays of 2-3 minutes due to the limitations of the connection type.
