Alarm Notification Setup
Learn how to set up and customize Activity Log, Email, or Work Order workflows related to ATG alarms.
Table of Contents
Titan Cloud's compliance module not only provides remote ATG alarm monitoring, it allows you to configure alarm notification workflows to ensure the alerts most important to you aren't lost in the noise by sending emails to stakeholders, creating tasks in the Activity Log, or creating new Work Orders.
Tip: Alarm notifications are tied to ATG polling frequency. For example, if your account is set to poll every 15 minutes, notifications will address alarms that have occurred within the past 15 minutes.
To configure alarm notifications, click the nine dots to open the global menu, and select Gateway. Under FacilityCloud, select Alarm Notification Template Setup.

To update an existing alarm notification template, locate the template in the grid and click the pencil edit icon.
To create a new alarm notification template, click Add New at the top of the page. This will open the basic Notification Template Details form.
Rule Name is required. You may also add a description, start date, and end date. When you're ready, click Add New.

Tip: Want to duplicate an existing alarm notification template rather than start from scratch? Click the pencil edit icon next to an existing template, then select Copy.

Once the alarm notification template has been created, you gain access to the Alarms, Locations, Exceptions, and Actions tabs below the Details section. These tabs allow you to customize the conditions that cause the alarm to fire, and the events that it will trigger.

Tip: When customizing Alarms, Locations, Exceptions, and actions, you'll notice tabs for Active and Historical alarms.

Remember to keep your polling frequency in mind when configuring notifications for live and historical alarms. For example, imagine this scenario at a facility where the Titan Cloud polls the ATG every 15 minutes.
- At 7:00, Titan Cloud polls the ATG. No sensor alarms are present.
- At 7:05, a sensor alarm goes off on site.
- At 7:10, the sensor issue is resolved and the alarm is cleared on site.
- At 7:15, Titan Cloud polls the ATG. The sensor alarm from 7:05 is logged in Titan Cloud as a historical alarm.
Also note that if the same historical alarm was present multiple times during the same polling period, only one historical alarm notification will be created.
Alarms
This tab sets which alarm types are associated with the template. Click Add New to add alarm parameters or click the pencil edit icon to update an existing set of parameters.
Select options from the lists on the left and use the arrows to move them into the Selected lists
Tip: If you'll be using both, configure the Active Alarms first before toggling over to Historical Alarms. Then, scroll to the bottom of the Historical Alarms settings and click “Prepopulate the same Alarm Types as Active Alarms”!
In the Active Alarms tab, you may also choose to create the notification after a set number of minutes (avoid noise from quickly-resolved alarms), and to create multiple notifications for the alarm after a set number of minutes (to escalate long-lasting alarms).
In the Historical Alarms tab, you may also choose to send notifications when the alarm is cleared, or limit how often a notification is created for the same historical alarm.
Tip: For alarm types that reoccur, we recommend clicking the checkbox for “Do not create a notification more often than every _____ minutes” and inputting 1440 minutes. This limits the notification events to once a day, and prevents repetitive duplicate items for this alarm in your Activity Log.
Click the checkbox for Active to enable the configuration in your live environment, and click Save.

Click Add New to begin adding exceptions, or click the pencil edit icon to update an existing set of exceptions.
Select options from the lists on the left and use the arrows to move them into the Selected lists. You may also select a start and end date for when these exceptions should apply.
Tip: If you'll be using both, configure the exceptions for Active Alarms first before toggling over to Historical Alarms. Then, scroll to the bottom of the Historical Alarms settings and click “Prepopulate the same Exceptions as Active Alarms”!

Click Save to confirm and activate exceptions.
