Automatically Create Work Orders from Alarm Notifications
Learn how to generate Work Orders automatically when an Alarm Notification is triggered.
In order to implement this workflow, the client must have active subscriptions for the Alarm Dashboard and Maintenance.
Alarms can be configured to automatically generate Work Orders on the Alarm Notification Template Setup page.
To access this page, click the nine dots to open the global menu, and select Gateway. Under FacilityCloud, select Alarm Notification Template Setup.

If you have already configured one or more alarms to send a notification, you should see the Alarm Notification Templates listed on the page.
Locate the desired template, and click the pencil edit icon to open the configurable details.
Need to add a new Alarm Notification Template?
To create a new Alarm Notification Template, click Add New at the top of the page.
This will open the basic Notification Template Details form. Complete the information and click Add New.

Tip: Before adding a Work Order to the template, make sure to associate it with an alarm! Click the pencil edit icon once the new template has been added to the list. In the Alarms tab, select the alarm(s) that should trigger the Work Order.
To set up automated Work Orders, click the Actions tab at the center of the screen, then click Add New.

In the Type dropdown menu, select Work Order.
In the Work Order Template Name dropdown menu, you can choose an existing template or select Create New Template. Please refer to the Maintenance Setup article for more information on Work Order templates.
Click Save to confirm.

Tip: If you are creating a new Work Order template, make sure to scroll to the bottom of the Setup Information section and click Add New before clicking Save.
