How to Create a Custom Field Using Custom Fields Effectively

 

How to Create a Custom Field

  1. Navigate to System > Custom Fields
  2. Click the Create button in the bottom right hand corner of the page.
  3. Complete the required details on the custom field creation page.
  4. Choose from a variety of answer types, including:
    1. Boolean (Yes/No)
    2. Text
    3. Date
    4. Integer
    5. Decimal
    6. Info messages
    7. Warning messages
  5. Specify the user types that the field applies to (all users or selected user types).
  6. Structure fields as parent/child, where child fields appear based on responses in parent fields.
  7. Map the custom field to specific matrices. If no mapping is applied, the custom field will be available across all matrices.
  8. Click Save to finalize the custom field creation.

Using Custom Fields Effectively

  • Data Structuring: Organize data efficiently by applying custom fields to the appropriate categories.
  • Enhanced User Experience: Provide contextual information through info and warning messages within the application.

Custom Fields enable a more personalized and functional user experience, ensuring that your application adapts to unique business requirements.
