Self-Service Data Import Wizard (V1)
Learn to mass-update client data using the Import Wizard Self-Service tool.
Table of Contents
September 2025 Procedure updates:
- New Facilities/Tanks: Due to database limitations, you may need to upload the file multiple times until everything is created (a recent example required 3 uploads for 120 facilities). Just drag and drop the same file again, so the workaround is relatively easy.
- Updates: When updating existing Facilities/Tanks, you should only need one upload.
The Self-Service Data Import Wizard allows Titan admins to add or update client data in bulk, eliminating the bottleneck of relying on Titan Cloud software engineers for common client requests.
Tip: The Self-Service Data Import Wizard needs to be manually enabled on the backend by a Titan Cloud engineer. If you're unsure whether your account has this tool enabled, please reach out to your Implementations Manager or Customer Success Manager.
To locate this tool, navigate Admin Console > Data Import/Export.

Import
Any data imported to Edge in bulk must match a specific format. To ensure this, we've provided Templates.
Step 1: Download Template
Click Download Template to begin customizing the template for your data.

The available columns that may be selected are determined by the Data Type. Move as many columns as needed from the Available Columns list to the Selected Columns list.
Note: Facilities and Tanks are the only live options for Data Type at this time.
Note: All items that auto-populate in the “Selected Columns” list are required. Templates cannot be processed without these fields accurately completed.
Required fields:
- New Tanks: ClientID, FacilityName, Tank Registration Number, Tank Location Type
- Update Tanks: ClientID, FacilityName, Tank Registration Number, TankId, Tank Location Type
- New Facilities: ClientId, FacilityName
- Update Facilities: ClientId, FacilityName
Click Download to save the template to your computer as an Excel file.
Step 2: Data Upload
Step 2 can be accessed by clicking Next on the Step 1 window, or by clicking Upload Template on the Data Import/Export page.
Remember, only spreadsheets with valid data matching the template's format may be uploaded successfully. Click Upload, wait for the success message, then click Next.

Note: Even if you are updating existing data, all required fields must be complete to upload data successfully. When the Export tab goes live, this will help you retrieve the data you need to populate the required columns. In the meantime, you may need to utilize Reports.
Step 3: Data Review
If errors are detected, you have two options to review and correct them:
- Download an Excel file containing the rows with invalid data and a new column, Error Description, that explains what must be fixed
- Fix the errors in the Import Wizard

If Download the Error Correction File is selected, you will need to return to Step 2 to upload your new, corrected file once the errors have been fixed.
If Fix Errors Here is selected, the wizard will prompt you to fix each error and show a green checkmark when valid data is provided.
Select the corrected rows, then click Update.

Successful imports will then show on the Data Import/Export page under Recent Imports.

Export
The Export tab is not live at this time. Stay tuned!
