Table of Contents

What Changed Example

The grids at the bottom of the Release Detection Setup page contain a detailed history of Release Detection methods and effective dates for the facility.

What Changed

We added a new Release Detection Method History table below the existing Period Effective Dates table.

This new table makes it easier to see and manage your release detection setup, helping Facility Compliance Reports (FCRs) generate correctly and reducing confusion.

Release Detection Period Effective Dates table: Handles the frequency of a method (e.g., CSLD every 30 days, monthly, etc.).

  • Editable fields:
    • Period Effective Date
    • Period Expiration Date
    • Period Active

Release Detection Method History table: Handles which methods are active and when changes took effect.

  • Editable fields:
    • Tank RD Method Date
    • Method Active

Together, they show how often, and which method is active.

The additional table has been added to prevent errors like secondary methods overriding new primary methods, and disabled methods displaying on reports.

Example

Let’s say you’re using CSLD as your primary release detection on a specific tank.

You decide to make CSLD a secondary method.

You want to add SIR as your new primary.

OLD State NEW State
Primary: CSLD Primary: SIR
Secondary: N/A Secondary: CSLD

Here’s what you do:

Step 1: Set the new Primary and Secondary release detection methods.

Under Tank & Line, select the tank from the dropdown menu and set the new Primary and Secondary methods. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Update to save.

You will see the previous AND the new methods in the Release Detection Method History grid.

Step 2: Disable the previous Primary release detection method in the Release Detection Method History grid.

To do this, click the pencil edit icon, then de-select the “Method Active” checkbox. Click Save.

Step 3: Verify the Effective Dates in the Release Detection Period Effective Dates table.

Click the pencil edit icon to see the Period Effective and Expiration Dates. Make changes as needed and click Save.

Tip: Need to change the compliance period type? This is managed at the site level, and can be edited at the top of the page.

Your FCR will now show CSLD as secondary and SIR as primary without overwriting each other.
